CFPB Issues Revised FCRA Summary of Rights Notice

On September 12, 2018, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) issued a revised FCRA Summary of Rights notice in response to the amendment of the FCRA by the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act (S. 2155), which takes effect September 21, 2018. The revised notice includes new security freeze notice language required by the amendment.

Our sample forms that include an FCRA Summary of Rights notice, such as our sample electronic (i.e. QuickApp) and paper disclosure and authorization forms, have been updated to include the revised notice. Whether you use our sample forms or your own forms, you may wish to review them with legal counsel in light of the new requirements.
