Advanced Reporting LLC’s Background Screening Privacy Policy

As a consumer reporting agency governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”) and other applicable state and federal laws, Advanced Reporting LLC (“Advanced Reporting”) is committed to protecting your right to privacy.

This privacy policy covers Advanced Reporting’s practices, policies, and security measures regarding the receipt, storage, and use of “Personally Identifiable Information” for background screening purposes. This policy also covers the receipt of certain information through Advanced Reporting’s website (https://advrep.com) and software platform for background screening purposes.

All information collected by Advanced Reporting will be collected, stored, and used in compliance with applicable laws, including the FCRA.

With Whom Advanced Reporting Shares Personally Identifiable Information

Advanced Reporting will not disclose your “Personally Identifiable Information” to a third party, except in accordance with applicable laws.

Typically, Advanced Reporting will only disclose “Personally Identifiable Information” regarding the subject of a background check to a third-party in the following situations:

  • To an employer or prospective employer which has been authorized in writing by the consumer to receive information about him or her for employment purposes.
  • To a landlord or property management company which has been authorized in writing by the consumer to receive information about him or her for purposes of determining whether he/she will be approved as a renter.
  • As otherwise required by law.

End-users (e.g., employers and prospective employers) may only obtain information from Advanced Reporting after they have certified a legal permissible purpose for receiving such information.

When Advanced Reporting transfers “Personally Identifiable Information” to a representative or third-party subcontractor assisting with a background check, Advanced Reporting provides only the information required to assist with the background check. Advanced Reporting prohibits such third-party representatives and subcontractors from using consumer information for any purpose other than assisting Advanced Reporting with the background check. Advanced Reporting also contractually requires such third-party representatives and subcontractors to maintain commercially-reasonable measures to protect the confidentiality of consumer information they receive.

If Advanced Reporting or its assets are acquired by another company, that company will assume responsibility for the “Personally Identifiable Information” collected by Advanced Reporting and it will assume the rights and obligations regarding the collection and use of such information, as described in this Privacy Policy. Advanced Reporting will not permit another business in such a circumstance to review or examine the information Advanced Reporting has collected without a confidentiality agreement in place and only to the extent allowed by law.

Advanced Reporting does not resell any data provided to it for marketing purposes under any circumstances.
