Oregon Public Schools Contractor Backgrounds

Any person who will have access to or will be working on any sites for the Oregon public schools will be required to have a background check performed on them prior to gaining access to those sites.

How to Get Started:

  • Fill out the Advanced Reporting Client Application
  • Receive Login Credentials and ordering instructions within 24 to 48 hours
  • Have each person that needs a background fill out authorization forms
  • Input candidate information into system for processing, or submit authorization forms to Advanced Reporting(https://advrep.com/upload or Fax: 503.779.1345) to input for a $5 fee
  • When the reports are completed, an email notification will be sent and you will be able to review the results online.

What is going to be checked on my candidates and how much does it cost?

The cost of the background starts at $25.00, and the searches will consist of the following:

National Alias & Criminal Records Locator

  • Includes SSN Validation
  • Address History Trace
  • Searches all associated aliases revealed in SSN trace against National Criminal Records Database Locator
  • Nationwide Sex Offender Database Records Search
Live Criminal Records Search*

  • 1 search included, Oregon & Washington searches are statewide
  • Additional live searches – $15.00 each + Search Fees(Court Access and/or Court Runner Costs)
K-12 Site Approval Adjudication

  • Review any criminal offenses against ORS 342.143 to determine whether applicant is approved or declined from site access

Please note that in Oregon & Washington we do not charge court search fees, as we have direct access to the court records systems, and perform the search on a statewide basis covering all counties.

Disqualifying Offenses:

In accordance with ORS 342.143(3)(a), if a candidate has been found to have been convicted for any of the following offenses, then will not be allowed access to the school sites:

Section (3) Without limiting the powers of the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission under subsection (2) of this section:

(a) A teaching, personnel service or administrative license, or a public charter school registration, may not be issued to any person who:

(C) Has been convicted in another jurisdiction of a crime that is substantially equivalent, as defined by rule, to any of the crimes listed in subparagraphs (A) and (B) of this paragraph.
