We had a great time at the Multifamily Northwest Spectrum conference in Portland, OR on September 12th. The exhibitor booths on the tradeshow floor were sold out and there were a record number of attendees soaking up the knowledge presented in the educational sessions and keeping us busy at our booth.
There are some really great tools today that leverage technology to enhance the income verification and identity verification processes for rental housing providers and for prospective renters and many of our conversations at Spectrum centered around these advances and how they can add value to a screening program.
54% of people who answered our survey during the conference said that if they had a magic wand, turnaround time is something they would change in their screening process and 49% said they would like more detailed information from their screening reports. Applicant driven net income verification provides a more detailed and more complete picture of a prospective renter’s income in record time.
It’s no surprise that smartphones and covid combined to reshape the whole leasing process and more and more rental housing providers don’t meet their new renters face to face until move-in day. This makes identity verification an even more critical component of the application and screening process. We had a great time introducing vID to Spectrum attendees. vID is an identity verification tool that compares an individual’s photo ID with their live image on a phone or computer. It’s an even more thorough version of what used to happen when an applicant walked in with their application and ID.
Thank you to Multifamily Northwest for putting on another wonderful event! We can’t wait to see you again on November 6th at the Prism Education Conference in Eugene, OR.
