The New Form I-9 Here

Today the U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) published the updated Form I-9 which all employers must use to verify the identify and employment authorization of new hires. Employers have until May 7, 2013 (60 days) to fully implement using the new form, but can begin using it immediately. As of May 7, 2013, employers who continue to use any previous version of the I-9 form will be out of compliance.

The new I-9 document, the entire form and instructions, has increased in length from five to nine pages. The additional length appears to be due to a lot more detail in the instructions for both employees and employers and the form layout is clearer with regard to what needs to be completed and by whom.

Visit the USCIS I-9 Central Home for the lastest information and to print the new form or contact us if you have any questions about our integrated Form I-9 and/or E-Verify solutions.
